Contact information for REGDOC-2.4.2

REGDOC-2.4.2 sets out requirements for conducting a Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) that provides a comprehensive and integrated assessment of the safety of a reactor facility. New guidance has also been included as a result of additional feedback from stakeholders to clarify the intent of certain requirements.

The CNSC's Fukushima Task Force Report (PDF) and the CNSC Integrated Action Plan on the lessons learned from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident identified improvements to existing regulatory documents to strengthen the regulatory framework. REGDOC-2.4.2includes targeted amendments to existing requirements that are specified in regulatory document S-294, Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for Nuclear Power Plants, to address the lessons learned from the Fukushima event.

This document is part of the Safety Analysis series of the CNSC's regulatory framework. Other documents in this series are REGDOC-2.4.1, Deterministic Safety Analysis, (published in May 2014) and RD-327, Nuclear Criticality Safety (published in December 2010).

REGDOC-2.4.2 replaces S-294, Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) for Nuclear Power Plants, published in April 2005.

Status: published March 2014
