Summary

REGDOC-1.6.1, Licence Application Guide: Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices, provides guidance on the completion and submission of an application for a licence for nuclear substances and radiation devices, in accordance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and the regulations made under it.

This document supersedes RD/GD-371, Licence Application Guide: Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices. Since the initial publication of RD/GD-371, both the CNSC and applicants identified several areas that needed clarification. This is an editorial revision of the original document to address those areas, and it does not introduce any new requirements.

The CNSC is also taking this opportunity to renumber the document in accordance with its new regulatory framework.

REGDOC-1.6.1 focuses on the information requirements and process for submitting an application for a licence, and is part of the Nuclear Substances and Radiation Devices series of the CNSC’s regulatory framework. There are currently no other documents in this series.
