AMP issued to Glencore Canada Corporation

Today, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) announced it had issued an administrative monetary penalty (AMP) to Glencore Canada Corporation, in the amount of $1,000. In July 2016, the licensee did not follow its approved standard operating procedure for a maintenance activity. The error directly led to a worker receiving a radiation dose, although this dose did not exceed the limit for a member of the public. These actions constitute a violation of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act under paragraph 48(c). On October 4, 2016, the CNSC confirmed that the AMP issued to Glencore Canada Corporation has been paid. The CNSC now considers this AMP closed.
